A police complaint has been filed against well-known actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar for alleged abusing and slapping a person named Kailash Satpute.
The incident took place on Pune-Mumbai Solapur Highway on Friday night. The 'Vaastav' director and Satpute got into a heated argument after the former's car got hit by the latter. In fact, a video of the incident has gone viral too.
Bhausaheb Patil, police inspector, Yavat police under Pune Gramin Police says, "According to complaint, Manjrekar was driving at Solapur highway. At a stretch, complainant Kailash's car brushed the actor's car. Following that, the actor got down from the car and got into a verbal spat. Later, Manjrekar allegedly abused and slapped the complainant. Based on that complaint, we have registered a non cognizable offence against the actor."
Speaking to us, Manjrekar says, "I fail to understand that if you are driving a car and another person bangs your vehicle from behind, how are you at fault. And that man had no sense to apologize; he's made such a hue and cry about the entire issue. It was an accident, I haven't murdered anyone. The matter is getting unnecessary importance. I think I should have filed a complaint first. I was on my way to a film shoot so I didn't want to get into all this."
